The Filmmaker pathway within the Bachelor's Degree in DAMS – Performing Arts (Class L-3) prepares students to develop and carry forward audiovisual projects, from the original concept to final production. It is one of the most in-demand profiles in the world of visual arts because it involves direct engagement with all stages of the creative and production process. For this reason, the Filmmaker must be able to identify artistic innovation while also understanding the needs of the market.
This is certainly an artistic profession grounded in the humanities, but the Filmmaker must also have a strong command of digital technologies and of the organizational and management tools used in the film, television, and multimedia industries.
The Filmmaker is also responsible for ensuring that the direction of actors is effectively managed. This requires mastery of camera techniques, the methodologies of screenwriting for short films and feature films, creative solutions for lighting systems, the art of editing, and strategies related to post-production and audiovisual marketing.
